New Student Information
Welcome to Sound In Motion in Boise!
A week of dance for free!
We know that learning to dance can be a little scary for some, so we’re giving you your first week of classes free!
Once you submit your info on the right, just come in to our studio for your free class. Make sure you begin at the first or second week of the session. If you sign up to take the whole series after your free class, we’ll take 20% off!
Your only regret will be that you didn’t start sooner!
A fun and sexy dance that is easy to learn and we will have you out on the dance floor in no time at all! This dance is thought of as a slower more romantic dance with a lot of fun hip action for the ladies! It’s almost always played at the Salsa clubs so it is good to know some basics. In this class we will go over your fundamental movements and turns and show you how to have a good time and add a little flavor!
Whether you have one left foot or two, we will start with the basic step and have you dancing in no time! Class includes basics such as the Cross-body Lead, Right turn, and Cross-body Lead with an Inside Turn. You may join this class the first or second week, but after the second week we recommend waiting for the next session to begin for a better learning experience! Don’t keep putting it off! Learn to dance now!

When can I start?
If you want to take a private lesson, you can begin immediately!
If you’d rather do a group lesson, you can join progressive courses on these dates:
Bachata Level 1: Coming Soon
Salsa Level 1: Coming Soon
Zouk Level 1: Coming Soon
Pricing is as follows:
– Drop in: $20
– 8-Week Group Class Series: $100
All of our group dance classes in Lynnwood are 8-week progressive series classes. Because of that we don’t accept drop-ins or new students after the second week of class.
Absolutely not! We rotate partners so that everyone gets a chance to dance with everyone!
Definitely not! It is not required to rotate in group classes, but is highly recommended. It gives you the opportunity to practice leading and following, instead of just doing the move. If you find yourself getting frustrated in a group class try rotating. You might just be surprised!
Anything you are comfortable in. Everything from business casual to jeans and a t-shirt, and yes, even yoga pants.
Dance shoes are always the best options but, if you are not quite sure if you have been officially converted into a dance addict yet, anything that will let you spin on a wood floor will work – even socks! (Super grippy tennis shoes are bad!)
Where can I get dance shoes?
You can order shoes from us! We are distributors for Supadance and Very Fine shoes.
There are no refunds for classes missed and they do not carry over to the next session. We review the material from the previous classes each week, and our classes are progressive so you will still get all of the course material.
